Real Estate & Property Management in Manawatu

Property in the Manawatu region has historically performed very well as an investment.  The region benefits from slow and steady growth and investors who buy property enjoy good capital gains in the medium to long term.  When people invest in residential property we suggest that they look at it as a long term proposition, generally of ten years plus.  It is rare in the Manawatu that property values plummet or rise steeply, and this gives confidence for investment.

Property Management provides a wonderful solution both for owners of investment properties and people who require their own personal homes looked after.  The rental market in the country tells us that around 33% of all homes are rented properties, and many owners choose property management to help maximise their investment.  In Palmerston North the ratio of rented properties is higher than the national average at around 36%.  Even further in the Manawatu, for example Feilding and Ashhurst this ratio is high.  Given new legislation which financially penalises owners who leave the country for more than 3 weeks without appointing an agent, property management is becoming more and more popular.

Rentals are popular in the Manawatu region, as there are many tenants who transfer into the area on an ongoing basis.  This certainly a vibrant region.  Manawatu has a strong education sector with Massy University, U.C.O.L., the International Pacific College and its renowned Veterinary School, Agricultural sciences and Teachers college.  Both those working within the education industry and those studying tend to require rentals.  Large employers in the region include various science institutes, Toyota, Ezibuy, Foodstuffs and the Palmerston North Hospital.  Many of these companies transfer staff are require rental accommodation.  Manawatu is also home to the New Zealand Army at Linton Army Base, and the Air Force at Ohakea Air Force Base and these personnel and associated industries transfer people into and out of the area.
